Awa Tsireh (Alfonso Roybal)

(San Ildefonso, 1898-1955) One of the finest Southwest Indian painters of his time, and also an extremely talented metalsmith. Most of his metalwork was done while he was in residence at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post in Colorado Springs during the 1930s and 1940s.
