Fossil turquoise is formed when the calcite in a vein is replaced by turquoise, and fossil Lone Mountain turquoise is among the rarest and most valuable turquoise in existence, with only a small amount being mined near Tonopah, Nevada. The beads on this treasure were made by Bruce Eckhardt, the gold findings by Piki Wadsworth, and the inlaid gold beads by Calvin Begay. Straight length 18 3/4”, weight 96 grams.
